<Thanks Carol...........but would the rupture cause his back legs to collapse? pam>
Pam, since I had always heard that the symptoms are very much like a stroke, I would assume it could cause his back legs to collapse. I have been searching for the symptoms since you asked the question, though, and cannot find the answer. I have looked in several books that I have, "Small Animal Cardiology Secrets," by Jonathan A. Abbott, DVM; and "The Merck Veterinary Manual," as well as a couple of others. I've also done a web search, and while I can find information on this, I haven't been able to find the symptoms! I do hope your friend can get a definitive answer. Carol Richards [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.geocities.com/carolscavaliers/ "My little dog, a heartbeat at my feet."
