Whatever it is about retrieving is something that appears to be just inborn. We play fetch every day with ours (great exercise for them) and some of them have been running frantically to the ball for three years without ever figuring out that they are supposed to do something with it once they get to it. Some of the others have caught on as pups, and they quickly learn to manuver around and bring it back to drop at our feet. The Delhaze dogs are all just little fetching professionals and will fetch all day long, bring it to you and toss it to land within a couple of inches of your feet. Toby (Delhaze Super Trooper) is very particular and will only fetch balls that meet his approval...never a toy. You simply cannot fool him on the fake throw either. His eyes never leave that ball.
