We've never had a pointer, but we did have a black and tan boy who would not stay out of the water. Any body of water was fair game to him in any weather. I used to put a wading pool out for him in the summer and throw a bag of ice cubes in it and he would play in it for hours and hours, catching the ice cubes. (Don't tell anyone, but once I put a whole bunch of feeder goldfish in the water and all the dogs had the time of their lives catching them.....okay, I know it's tacky, but they do call them "feeder" gold fish, after all) Myra
