I have used a plain red rubber catheter (shortened to about half its normal
length) and a 10 cc syringe.  That is the easiest; you don't have to use the
pipette.  I think that the pipettes are too rigid and large for comfortable
use.

I have also used those short clear catheters meant for humans who have to
self-cath, but you need a prescription to get them.
