We have taken two puppies back when their owners haven't been able to keep them. Both times, it was with the understanding that we will screen new homes until we are able to place them and the new families will pay the old families directly. We are perfectly content to keep those puppies indefinitely (and in fact we do still have them) but it is very important to us that these puppies go to forever homes the second time around. So...no, didn't pay them directly, but they will receive whatever the new families pay for them. Myra
