Sounds like Masticatory muscle myositis or possibly puppy head gland disease - both autoimmune related I believe

I am hoping this may be something one of you has come across. The puppy has an overbite and had her two bottom canines pulled on March 19. Ever since that time she has had some trouble picking up toys, bones etc. She is teething and just last week the owners noticed her jowls looked more droopy and maybe like she was chewing on the insides of them. About mid week last week they noticed swollen nodes under her jaw and she is unable to open her mouth more than a fingers width. She is eating well,-drinking and seems to feel fine-running and playing. She was x-rayed today and even under anesthesia the vet could not pry her jaws open. He said he does not know what is wrong. Please if any of you have ever experienced something similar let us know. Even some brainstorming could help. Next stop for them is the state vet school. This is looking very expensive for them. They have money to take good care of their dogs but not lots to spare on expensive diagnostics and procedures.
