That sentence is nothing new Marilyn, it has been in the CKCSC Code of Ethics in one form or another for as long as I can remember. The oldest yearbook that I could find is a 1983, but I have older ones around here someplace.
The 1983 states "I shall use for breeding only Cavaliers eligible for registration with CKCSC, USA. Inc. (This can be determined in advance by writing to the Recording Secretary of the Club)." I'm sure there have been variations of it for most of the years that the club has been in existence.
