Let me tell you about something that really ticked us off recently. The vet technician, who orders the supplies said that she only orders 3 year type so the rabies vaccines for 3 yr and 1 yr are the same vaccine.
When we had all the rabies vaccinations redone this year, the vet wanted to charge us $5.20 for one year rabies vaccinations and $18 for three yr vaccinations. Wm. found this out after he had taken several of our dogs for the rabies vaccinations (the vet will do a parking lot shot and not charge an office visit per dog). Then the vet said that the dogs who had the three year shot would have to have a new certificate and tag for the next two years and there would be a $4 charge each year for that. Wm. was irate and told the office assistant that since they had been given the same vaccine, to just change the records to a one year and charge him for that. To have to pay $5.20 for one shot and $26 for the same shot given to a different dog was a bit much. ($18 plus $8 for 2 years of updates). Especially since the vet probably pays $1 per shot. William is considering changing vets over this, he got so steamed. He does all the vet visits now as I'm too covered up with schoolwork.
