Good morning everyone, sorry to have been off list (Whippet races!). Norma
suggested that petitions be written and signatures gathered at both the
Nationals to be presented to each club's officers. Assume the year would
have to be 2003 and I see Fall suggested as a time. To me, St. Louis with
the Dog Museum and the Purina Farms facility sounds promising, but
everyone's input needs to be considered. It seems reasonable to choose a
central place (although I have always been amazed that Chicago is considered
Midwest, look at a map, to me in CA it is EAST but that;'s ok, us left
wingers are used to travel!). I have not been to the Farms, do they have an
indoor facility? I am sure that they would be available, and might even
sponsor some of the trophies. Can't ask pedigree to give us stuff for Purina
farms :) can we?) After all, we are 'ballroom' quality (dogs AND people!) or
do you all think outdoors would be fine? We will need volunteers to
circulate the petitions at the Nationals...well???? I will be in CA for
both, regretably and will miss them but happy to design them and send them
to the volunteers. I would be a lousy show cahir folks, am not paper
oriented nor am i organized, but I am happy to work hard. Can we organize a
very loose committee of 6-8 (or more) people who participate in both venues
to be a committee and get our heads together so we can move forward?
Volunteers? Let's go!
