Thanks Hilarie, That is good to know. I know of someone who recently put down there dog because a different vet (not mine) said treatment for her heartworm positive dog was going to be 100's of dollars. One this subject: My vet wants me to put my dogs on heartgard year round. We live in the Chicago area and I am not sure it is necessary. His practice has had an average of 30 dogs/year diagnosed with heartworm. Does anyone have strong feelings one way or another?
