This is a disturbing statement to say the least. While I agree that the
bleached, dyed, trimmed Cavalier should be dumped, or any breed that is bleached
and dyed, I don't a gree that a good dog should be dumped due to improper
handling skills. If I hadn't been on this list I would not know that a Cavalier
shouldn't be hard stacked or knelt with. It is more productive for the breed and
the exhibitor to have a judge or other exhibitors explain to someone, pro or
not, that Cavaliers are not hard stacked or kneeled down with than to dump them
and award let's say some weedy, roached backed, beagle headed, cow hocked, can't
move it's way out of a wet paper bag dog a ribbon over the nice one dontcha
think? Conversely if we were discussing a breed, or if this breed was one, that
"is" hand stacked would you really feel that someone with a lesser quality dog
should win over a better quality dog because they had better handling skills???
I believe that this already happens quite often enough in many breeds that are
shown by predominantly pros who have better handling skills than the average
owner.

Respectfully,
Terrie:)
