It's day 3 and the puppy's unite is now only slightly pink - major improvement I have been interested in all the talk or umbilical infection and plasma. Since the pup was over 48 hours old, she was injected (it looked like into the stomach) instead of giving it orally. My vet says that the other possibility is that a valve that a puppy has while in utero send the urine through the umblicus and is supposed to close at birth. Could be that it did not close all the way right away. Anyways, were are still on vigilant alert, but I am hopeful that we might have saved the little one's life. I'll keep you posted.
