In Holland we are doing the microchip since 1998, before that we had the tattoo in both ears, I think that the microchip is much better and it is less painful. Our pups are getting the chip between 6 and 8 weeks, by a special person from our kennelclub. The number is also on the pedigree, we use BackHome from Virbac.
