This subject came up on the Golden list not too long ago. If memory serves correctly they are actually able to do 30 some odd unit character spaces and most often will let you get away with a name that is up to 30 if you add boxes for the letters and a note, but then again not always. There are plenty of Goldens with well over 30 character units in their names. Just off the top of my head I know there is a Champion named Rush Hill's Xcentuate Th' Pawsitiv (that takes up 33 spaces) I guess it depends on the mood of who is doing names at AKC on the day VBG
