Alida - TDI stands for Therapy Dogs International. I also have 2 Delta Certified Dogs, but TDI is local and it's easier to find an evaluator. Plus it's easier to find other certified dogs in the area when we are ready to expand the program. We will require that they have their CGC (Canine Good Citizen) which you actually need in order to take the TDI test and then pass the TDI. Sometimes it can be done at the same time. Then the "Team" will have to go through an extensive interview and observation process with the other Coordinator and me to see if the dog and handler are appropriate for this population. We are hoping to have 6 CARE Teams ready for school in September. I would be thrilled.
