Leanne,
With all due respect........two things..........did you read the
newsarticle,
http://www.murraycountynews.net/default.asp?storyid=4651&secid=101
that someone posted about Mt. Cavaliers? If so, how can you make apologies
for this person? It's just sad she and her "friend" will go right on
breeding.............

Second: hip dysplasia..........yes, some cavaliers have it to some degree
or another, but rarely does it seem to manifest into a debilitating problem
for MOST. If it's such a crippling problem.........then why aren't more UK
cavaliers having a hard time walking? I met no one or heard of no one in
the UK, on my recent trip, that hip scores cavaliers.......and I asked this
question of several at the shows I was at. Personally, I'm not convinced
it's a serious enough problem to toss out an otherwise healthy, typey,
tempermentally sound cavalier from a breeding program. And, I've also
spoken to three seperate veterinary orthopedic specialists...all
concluding......hip dysplasia is not a serious problem for cavaliers to live
with. Only those that want to do agility or events that take a pounding on
a dog's joints should it be considered a negative aspect.

I know some will jump down my throat about my HD comments, but, sorry, I'm
not convinced. If we test for everything and long enough........we'll
find lots of problems in my opinion.

I firmly stand behind testing hearts and eyes by specialists.
