I tried hard to be silent but alas, it seems impossible. I completely agree with the posts re: this clever young girl's fresh faced approach to making money in dogs...she is yet another example of why we rarely have litters (takes too long to screen people and I might make a mistake). But one of the problems with having been "in" this wonderful and fulfilling hobby/sport/avocation/whatever is that I have seen too much and know too many facts about too many people to remain innocent. Here comes the big question (flame suit at the ready!): is Kelly any more reprehensible than the older, more experienced breeders who dumped their original breed when the demand dropped (not enough $$ to make it worth the effort), and now pontificate great knowledge (gleaned mostly from merely quoting the old books on breeding) to all who will listen? This latter example of a commercial breeder has puppies available most of the time, has not been successful in the Club and also cannot manage to finish them in AKC either now that the numbers and the quality has risen, but comes across as a self-appointed knowledgable breeder? I have always dubbed this kind of mill as a "commercial puppy farm thinly disguised as a show breeder"...I offer this observation only as food for thought, as the latter are, in my view, more dangerous as they have learned how to present themselves and to adapt to the environment, like the cockroaches and tapeworms that were found in the tombs of Egypt (I read somewhere!). No doubt Kelly will modify her act in time, I see she is still lurking on this list. Be careful out there good friends, this breed is a magnet for the profit minded.
