Myra, all of us make some poor choices...thankfully most of us have had the
same instincts/connections/luck that you've had to spare us from mistakes in
puppy sales.

Many of these internet inquiries often are generic in that they write to
lots of people, and they sometimes use different e-mail names with their
various inquiries. They 'name drop' and it's really beyond my understanding
why anyone would not expect to have their information verified, but they
often know that many people are so darned anxious to make the sale that they
think well if "so-and-so" sent this referral, it must be OK.

With all the puppy inquiries and all the sneaks and liars out there wanting
a puppy, I am very thankful I breed so little and now have mostly repeat
homes.

If buyers have to have one "right now", then that's the FIRST indication
that there's a red flag about to fly! If they don't live within a 3-hour
driving distance (here in New England), or that's TOO FAR, then another red
flag goes up.

If Patrick is a better interviewer than you are, great! Would you have him
send me his interviewing techniques? I always am updating my files! <VBG>
