There is a newer product which has much the same action as pitocin without the risks associated with pit. It is call CalSorb. It comes in a clear gel which can be administered orally. It also stimulates contractions but is considered to be a safer product if things start to slow down a little bit. I don't know that I would feel safe administering anything in an effort to start labor, but if there was a lull between pups, I could see using the CalSorb. Myra
