<But for my own peace of mine, I had my vet run an exray of her heart, which
showed a 20% enlargement (left side).... I've re-read the information I
have on MVD, and unless I misunderstood it, it states that the dog should be
put on medication (enepril?), even w/o symptoms.>

Kris,

The latest studies say that medication is not needed until the dog shows
symptoms. Also, I would wonder if your vet was reading the x-ray correctly.
Many regular vets are not able to properly judge the heart enlargement of
Cavaliers from x-rays. The next time you see the cardiologist, if you are
going to a show, I would ask your vet to take an x-ray beforehand and take
it to the show (if they will have a screen to look at it).

If you are seeing the cardiologist in his office, I would ask the
cardiologist to take an x-ray and read it. I know you were asking breeders,
and I am not a breeder, but thought I would answer anyway.
