I think that people who proclaim their breed as the only true performance breed are practicing the same sort of snobbery one sees in any human endeavour. Such as the breed ring or obedience ring. There are ace competators in any breed, and those who are just not performance oriented. Some have the best brought out in them through good training, while others will only be mediocre competators and will be hindered by their handlers. Called HDS (handler deficit syndrome) Cavaliers are couch potatoes, if that is where you are. All of mine are game for any adventure wether it be slogging through chin deep snow or spring torrential rains and mud. They will get of the sofa at just a mention of a walk. As for tireing, yes admitedly they are not Jack Russel Terriers who are caffine charged missiles. But they do the best they can with what nature gave them. Sometimes slow and stead wins the race, just ask the turtle and the hare.
So if you have the ace performance cavalier congratulations on being a good trainer, and if your BC is just ho hum in the ring don't blame the dog. I have seen them all over the years. ========================================================= "Magic Commands": to stop receiving mail for awhile, click here and send the email: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=SET%20CKCS-L%20NOMAIL to start it up gain click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=SET%20CKCS-L%20MAIL E-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] for assistance.
