Hi, Cheryl,
"HGE" is hemmoeragic Gastroenteritis and is when a dog has bloody stool
to the point of losing blood very fast. It comes on quickly and can
kill a dog quickly if not treated immediately. The usual cause is
overgrowth of bacteria.
If you ever see more than a touch of frank blood in your dog's loose
stool, you should see medical attention.
