Please forgive me if someone else has already said this or something like it. I am playing catch up in reading all of the posts on this subject, and I'm only up to posts made early on Tuesday. To *this* suggestion, however, I felt a need to respond:

The idea that came to me as I read this might just be feasible. I offer it up as a newcomer who really would like to see a mending of fences. My suggestion is that for ALL who want their cavaliers registered with the old Club: AKC and CKCSC breeders alike, all future litters (where one parent is CKCSC and one parent is AKC-only) are eligible for registration with CKCSC-USA if health test results of both sire and dam (hips, eyes, patellas, hearts) are submitted to the CKCSC Health Registry. So, you don't HAVE to do it unless you are using a sire or dam that is AKC-only at the time of the mating. Breeders would continue to be able to make decisions of sire/dam matings regardless of the actual *outcome* of specific test results -- it's making the outcome PUBLIC that permits the CKCSC registration. Pet owners would have access to PUBLIC information on health clearances of these puppies' parents prior to purchasing a puppy. Old Club breeders would have access to breedings with AKC-only cavaliers as long as they had been tested and the results of those tests were submitted to the Health Registry, and they would not risk being sanctioned by the old Club for such a mating. AKC-only breeders would not have to join or participate in the Old Club. It's an idea. Any feedback on the pro's and con's?
