Part 1 I agree with I am willing to bet that if there was some way to sample
all of the AKC dogs and all of the CKCSC dogs and all of the AKC breeders and
all of the CKCSC breeders there would not be a very significant difference in
percentage of healthy dogs or percentage of ethical breeders.

The problem is too many seem just fine with "if I'm unethical" or my dogs are
not "health tested" its up to you to find it out and we are not willing to
take any steps to try to make this easier or inact peer pressure to MAYBE
help pressure people into being more ethical and more open with health
testing results.

Part II I disagree with (The mandatory anything could be dangerous) I wont'
even go into the mandatory testing though I still feel there should be some
level. Lets say as a compromise mandatory disclosure. At time of
registration you have to submit all testing that was done. How can making it
easier for people to see what was done and what may not have been be harmful?
And peer pressure and exposure is a wonderful thing, I am willing to bet
more people would test if they HAD to do this.

And in this method there is no ramifications in breeding choice or
registration privelages so no decisions would be taken out of the hands of
the breeder. Nobody would be asking them to do anything more then what they
felt was best. They would just be asked to publish what they do do.

How can this be bad?

PS: Unfortunately it seems to me from reading this thread that it is far
more the breeders who seem totally unwilling to even consider ANY compromise
on the issue.
If I am wrong then I challenge people to post some suggestions for
compromise. What WOULD you be willing to do as a breeder to help the breed
in regards to whatever you consider health testing compliance and getting
this information to the public in an easy manner? What WOULD you be willing
to do if you are not a breeder to help the breeders retain the ability to
control their decisions and allow them access to more dogs (AKC?) for their
breeding programs?

And I really don't like the message of Breeders vs Pet Owners so I changed
the heading.
