It might have been blue, but not a natural blue-- more like the "blue"
scarring that sometimes happens from an eye injury or ulcer that was
difficult to heal. I don't think that vaccination would cause a blue iris
similar to a natural china blue eye in humans, but it sure could cause the
"blue" scarring type.

This may not necessarily be genetics.  Some years ago a fellow UK
Show/Breeder had - you guessed it a pick of litter bitch, which was
vaccinated at around 12 weeks of age. The dog became poorly but quickly
recovered (maybe a 24 hr thing) however one eye went blue!  The other
remained dark liquid brown.

They never did get a definitive answer on the subject, however they were
convinced that the vaccination was the cause of this anomaly.
