I have known of honey being used in minute amounts to raise blood sugar on puppies who are showing signs of hypoglycemia. It can cause diarrhea if too much is given. Only a tiny drop should be used in a newborn 16 ounce greyhound pup. Less for a cavalier I would assume. The puppy will show signs of feeling livelier within just a few minutes.
