Cindy, I have a bumper crop of the stuff on my fence. One of the bigest bushes anyone has ever seen. Fortunatley for us it is not in the dog run.
We were told that you can't pull it up you have to kill it off. If you cut it down, the clippers you used can give the stuff back to you. Since ours was not in the dog area we have to use Brush Be Gone and painted it on with a disposable paint brush. It did kill it for the season but it was back next season. I have heard that whatever it touches and be passed to you if they touch you, ergo, the dogs! I hope that you feel better. I know how bad it can be. I would not recommend using Brush Be gone in the dog area but perhaps a good nursery could tell you what to use to kill it or the best source...The List.
