Dear Cindy, I'm not an authority on poisin ivy though we had lots of it where I grew up as a kid. Your actual source of reinfection might not be bedding etc. but your dogs. They pick up the oils from the plant on their fur and when you touch them, you become resensitized. Some people are highly allergic to poison ivy others like me could roll in the stuff and not have a reaction. I have a relative who is sensitive to this plant and she only needs to walk in the area of the plant to have a reaction.The other thing is that when you pull or disturb the plants the oils get on to surrounding areas, or so I have been told. This is generally worse in wet weather. I'm not a fan of herbicides but this is what you might need to get rid of this pesky weed. Keep the dogs out of the area though for a few days . Barbara
