Hi Melva,
I would let them go ahead and do the biopsy. They only need a tiny snip
of tissue and once cultured it could provide a world of information. It's
also possible that she has picked up a staph infection and staph is very
resistant to treatment. A culture might point the way to the most effective
treatment.
