Daffy is what people, mostly but not always terrier people, use to enhance
the color of a dog's coat. There are several different recipes...the ones
I know are using paint (the powder, that doesn't become paint until you add
water). Several colors are mixed together in a jar or bowl...daffy is
applied with a brush, for instance, a shaving brush (remember those?).
Properly applied and allowed to set, it doesn't come off on the hands.
When you see a load of terriers in the ring, Airedales, for instance, or
Norwich, and all their tan parts are the same shade of orangey red, that's
daffy.
It also improves texture (well, it would, wouldn't it?) and makes a soft
coat feel more harsh.
And you should see the colors used...olive greenish paint powder mixed
with golden browns, a little brick color...it makes the most lovely shade of
reddish brown...very realistic.
P.S. -- All the recipes come from the UK! LOL!
