I did have an interesting talk with a judge a couple weeks ago. The previous week he had judged Aussies at a show in WA state where there was fly in special from California who was supposed to win. She had done well under this judge before. He told me he felt up the dogs legs with his fingers and chalk puffed out all over. The breeder/owner said, "you aren't supposed to do that" and he said, "neither are you!" He gave the breed to a different dog. Also heard from another judge of an ethical choice he made. Some of them ARE judging dogs.
