Hey, Peggy, I just read DogNews online. Almost had a heart attack when I saw this weeks editorial. They praised Steven Wise!!!!! Steven Wise is one of the biggest animal rights leaders in this country. After picking myself up off the floor, I sent off an e-mail to the editor as fast as my little fingers could type. All because Wise said in some NY times article that there is no such thing as a bad dog, he got glorified. Apparently that was enough to have them think that because he is a lawyer, he'd be the one to legally take on American Airlines. I could send DogNews quotes from Steven Wise where he also said that his 4 1/2 year old son is no different from a chimpanzee (he meant that in legal terms). Actually I have numerous quotes that could twist the stomach of a normal person. He, Mr Wise, apparently, also mentioned his mentor Peter Singer in this NY Times article, Peter Singer, is another influential AR person whose been known to say it's ok to have sex with an animal if it's with "mutual" consent! Go figure. That by the way is the least of some of his theories. These are just two examples of influential AR people, with I might add, a large following. So, DogNews suggests in the editorial that the AKC hire Steven Wise as their attorney to fight American Airlines! Yep, that's a super idea, put his office next to the legislation dept. :-) I suggested to the DogNews Editor that he not take my word for it but to check out Wise with Patti Strand. I did mention that this is exactly how AR people play on the heart strings of animal lovers to con them into their own little secret agenda.
