Retinal folds are "breeder's option" , but I have always thought that it is best to breed away from them as it could be a quantitative defect. I have no proof for this, but I suspect that continual breeding of retinal folds to retinal folds could result in retinal dysplasia. Mainly I think this because nothing is ever static when dealing with genetics, particularly polygenetics where the bell curve comes into play.
