Since all indications are that this pup is normal and healthy............ very likely this pup is having trouble bringing down the secondary, more fatty milk, all by herself. Often with singletons, they are not strong enough.......and I don't mean sickly.......just not strong enough to tread long enough and suckle hard enough, to bring down the thicker, more nutricious milk before getting exhausted... as they would be getting had they other siblings sharing the task. It can take about a week or more sometimes for them to build up more stamina to hang in there and tread with the front feet and suckle harder. Supplementing now is what is needed, but I would feed the baby with a normal human baby nipple and bottle.......preferably a "preemie" nipple......they are softer. This advice came to me from a "seasoned" breeder with many a singleton under her belt!!!
