Hello all. I noticed that a bug tracking system was one of the desired
features on Aaron's Classpath TODO list. This, along with some other
amount of software project development infrastructure, will soon be
available from the Tigris project (http://www.tigris.org). The Tigris
project is a open source project being funded by Collab.Net
(http://www.collab.net), the company for which I work. An open source,
Java-based bug tracking system called Scarab is in the works under the
Tigris umbrella project. I only mention this because I expect the
Scarab system to be of a much higher quality than the other currently
available open source or free options (i.e Bugzilla). I believe that
Scarab will be in beta in about a month (it has been in design for a
while, but implementation should be rapid as it is being built primarily
by Jon Stevens--of Apache JServ fame--on top of some existing
frameworks--namely Joist and Turbine). When it's ready, I'd love to set
it up for Classpath. Though there isn't a lot to look at on the web
site right now, let me know what you guys think. I will report back on
Scarab's readiness at a later date. :)
