Actually I THINK the problem was a bug that degrades the database over time. We could either upgrade to 4.0.6, or "vacuum" the data base. We chose the latter, and for now it seems to be holding steady! (Fingers crossed) Strange, though- we upgraded to 4.0.4 in Jan 07, and it took it this long to degrade to the point of non-functioning! >>> Daniel Sichel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 08/21/08 12:41 PM >>> >If the student's workstations aren't set to 10/half also you've got a bunch of duplex mismatches, >and that causes all kinds of communication = problems. It either needs to be set to auto on the >switch and the = workstation, or hard set to the SAME thing on both sides. Even if you hard coded the switch port settings at both ends, you may still have issues if you are using Cisco switches. Having both the card in the PC and the switch port set for auto negotiate will work best in most cases. Otherwise, as another contributor alluded to, you may be having ugly time outs and slowness that is causing your issue. Have you done a packet dump at the CAS end to see what is reaching it? Also check your vlan settings on each side of the CAS to make sure you don't have a switch loop. I did that once inadvertently and experienced exactly what you are seeing. Good luck.
