It seems like there is some attempt to carry information from the liveCD 
booted system to the installed image based on my experience.

While running the livecd I entered the WEP key with NWAM.
When I booted the installed image the WEP key was already there.

I don't know how the installer does this, but it would make sense to 
find out more about it.
