Just as a heads up, there should be something important for you
to have noticed with this:

* the official interfaces provided by what the project is delivering
didn't allow me to actually use vanity naming in the first and most
intuitive mode I could imagine - renaming the primary NIC for a
host. To be the devil's advocate, as a customer ``I don't care about
the details, I just want "bge0" to be "web0" - and of course bge0
is in use, (and so on)...''.

In addition, the documentation being prepared should include
a prominent warning that if you're logged into a host where you
want to rename the link, doing an "ifconfig interface unplumb"
could result in you not being able to finish the procedures. Some
changes on or around page "35" ("Link administration and mangement")
might be good to prevent some of the eventual bullet holes in feet.

Hopefully the problem(s) associated with renaming the "primary"
NIC won't bother many other people and it won't be a high call
generator for you...

Darren
