Binu, On the checksum point, yes, I'd downloaded the latest OVA from http://vm-images.cw-ngv.com/. If you downloaded the OVA more than a week or so ago, you might have a different checksum number. If you pull down the latest version, do you get the same checksum numbers?
Which OS/OpenStack combination are you running? QEMU V1.0 dates back to 2011 and I believe there have been some significant functional steps forward since then. As a work-around, you might be able to spin up a VM (e.g. based on Ubuntu 12.04), install the latest qemu-img on it and use it to convert the disk image. I hope that helps. Also I verified the checksum and seems to differnet from the checksum that you have given,, root@KVM:/home/cisco# md5sum cw-aio.ova 2431237152e49e49bf0d0e21b12f397c cw-aio.ova root@KVM:/home/cisco# md5sum cw-aio-disk1.vmdk 7929cc54796f1f795430888f6c736ec4 cw-aio-disk1.vmdk There are two issues , one qemu version and the downloaded file. I will try to download the file again and try. Alternatively can you share your file. I will give my dropbox id : [email protected] Thanks, BR, Binu -----Original Message----- From: Matt Williams [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, March 15, 2014 3:58 PM To: Binu Kiliamkavunkal Govindan -X (bkiliamk - Tech Mahindra at Cisco) Cc: [email protected] Subject: RE: Clearwater All-in-one image Binu, I think you have the correct command - if I issue that command on my Ubuntu 12.04 OpenStack Havana box, it succeeds. Is it possible that you're running a different version of qemu-img? Mine identifies itself as version 1.5.0. Alternatively, is it possible that your cw-aio.ova download failed, or the unpack operation was not clean? My cw-aio.ova has MD5 checksum 51e492aea8152bf1f68539fa6a3b242f and my cw-aio-disk1.vmdk has MD5 checksum 587dbdd5afc9455b9ac1c6a49fc38aa4. Do yours match? Please can you check these? If you still can't convert the image, I might be able to upload my one somewhere, but it's pretty large (~2.4GB) and it would be good to get to the bottom of this issue. I hope that helps - please let me know how you get on. I tried to convert the cw-aio-disk1.vmdk to qcwo2, but I am getting an error. qemu-img convert -f vmdk -O qcow2 cw-aio-disk1.vmdk cw-aio.qcow2 qemu-img: error while reading sector 131072: Invalid argument Is there anything wrong in my attempt?
