That's true but beware it is quite old now and doesn't cover Java 5 or 6. The fourth edition (which isn't freely available) is the latest and it includes significant updates for Java 5 and Java 6 including substantial changes and updates to the concurrency chapter and of course coverage of all the additions in Java 5/6 (like generics, enums, etc).
