I'm sure that David and other folks of clojure core team are well aware of the difference, and try to keep those implementation of the clojure language close. In any case even if they try extremely there will always be differences because of the semantics available on the clr-runtime, jvm or js-vm. Plus there will be problems and library that are more oriented to the browser and other to create the backend.
