Thanks for the link, I think that might work. However, once I create
the image (e.g. sda2.img - for which I will use an external HD so that
storage space is not a problem) - after this image is created, how do
I open the <.img> file ?  I am familiar with the .ISO image format
since that is commonly used, but not .img type.

Can it be saved as an .ISO image with the same command ?
i.e. will the below cmd work ?

In the meantime, I tried to increase the /dev/sdb1 ( /home) partition
from the current 22 GB to 35 GB (the original size), but that is not
possible without affecting the / (root) partition as both are
categorized as primary partitions.
