I think I addressed this point when I compared Adam Smiths vision of a free market economy to a command economy. While in theory you have have a democracy with a command economy, history has not turned out a state like this. You are correct that Canada is "semi-socialist", they call it a mixed economy. I understand what you are saying, and I am just saying that I think that socialist aspects of many western countries have gone too far, and we are turning into the very thing that we were trying to defeat in the cold. It pisses me off when people say that we have a market economy, and that we live in a free country, because I think that these statement just aren't true. And it's only getting worse. So what does all this have to do with Microsoft? Nothing. However I do think that in a market economy, it is up to the consumers to break a monopoly. Far too often we leave this job to government or the theory of competition, however when neither of these come through (as in the MS case), it is up to us to buy from the competition, and in the case of Linux which is a better product that costs less money it should be a no brainer. I know I'm preaching to the converted, but I think it is up to us to educate the rest of the public. Peace, Jesse
