If that isn't fresh enough, try unstable. I've never given it a shot, but from what I gather it's a usually a fresher Red Hat without the config tools. Packages do break, but not as often as the name implies.

If that still isn't bleeding-edge enough, there are a few brave souls with their own apt repositories. The KDE developers host one for KDE 3, for instance.
