Recently installed RH8 on a machine and as root, re-arranged various menu items in KDE so that there were not multiple menu groups/items for things like system settings, Internet etfc. Basically moved all items from the sub-menus in the "Extra's" group to their corresponding main menu Groups. All seemed fine and this is such a basic and common taks that I certainly never expected any problems. But now when I launch Control Center it loads but there are no icons down the left side tree?? And at least a few items directly under the main menu/Preferences (which are the Control Center options) also stopped working. Obviously I can still log in as another user with a default menu and all is fine. Any sugestions? my 2 cents: As a long time users of KDE/GNOME/Linux I have had the pleasure of seeing things improve and change remarkably in the last 5-6 years or more but it is little things like this, and a number of others, that will have to "work better" before the masses familiar with Mac's and Windows put new business users in front a Linux box. ________________________________ Open Enterprise Solutions Open Solutions for an Open World Johnny Stork, BA Calgary, AB Canada http://www.openenterprise.ca http://www.open-solutions.ca ________________________________ Open Enterprise Solutions Open Solutions for an Open World Johnny Stork, BA Calgary, AB Canada http://www.openenterprise.ca http://www.open-solutions.ca |
