Hi Barclay,

I'm not 100% positive but I think it would be a _very_ safe bet as they are
already SuSE customers on record (SuSE Firewall).

rences.html

SuSE will be coming out with their ber-desktop distro sometime early in
Q1/2003

..which I think makes it even more likely that SuSE is what they'll be
deploying.

Check it out.

Marcel

Subject: (clug-talk) German City opts for Linux and note for Marcel

CITY OPTS FOR LINUX:

Linux software will replace programs made by Microsoft Corp. at
government offices in Schwaebisch Hall as the German city seeks
to save more than E100,000 a year. The city in the German state
of Baden-Wuerttemberg wants to complete the software change on
its 400 personal computers by the end of 2004, the city said on
its Web site. (Bloomberg)

PS: Some years ago, I consulted and lived in Baden Wuerttemberg in
Germany. It is one of the most conservative provinces in all Germany. It
made me think if the most conservative part of Germany is ready to embrace
Linux, then Linux stands ready to spread even more rapidly.

Barclay

Marcel: Most probably Suse?
