SuSE Linux 8.1 awarded CNet Editors' Choice
Wow! SuSE Linux 8.1 received a "very good" at CNet's latest Software
Head-to-Head review, beating Red Hat Linux. "SuSE Linux 8.1 is an extremely
friendly choice for Windows users. If you're switching or dual-booting, make
this distribution your first choice", is article's resumee.
The review summary:
"SuSE Linux 8.1 offers the best-looking Linux desktop OS around. It's also
easy to use and well organized, and it performs adequately. Its installation
process is so smooth and uncluttered, in fact, that this alone merits a
chance from Windows die-hards. With two versions--the $75 Professional
package or the roughly $40 Personal version--SuSE 8.1 is far cheaper than
Windows and is even more economical than the $129 LindowsOS. We'd like to see
better support for the GNOME desktop environment, but SuSE makes Linux
palatable for any experienced Windows user and surpasses Red Hat 8.0 in both
installation and interface. If you're ready to switch to Linux, switch to
SuSE."

I also run Red Hat 7.2, quite happy. Can't comment on RH8 because I have
absolutely NO experience with it. Probably won't either because of everyone
else's grief.
If this is taken as TROLL FOOD or FLAME BAIT, please excuse. The question was
asked and this is MY opinion. You're welcome to your own, hopefully it won't
be mentioning this particular opinion. Simple question and simple answer.
