Hi All, Just purchased a cheap web cam so I can broadcast my guinea pigs on the net and for simple teleconferencing. It is not the best but hey for the price I paid I am happy.
My questions are: * Anyone know if this particular model (Labtec) is compatible with Linux or how I could find out? I checked the website and the documentation I have and doesn't really give me a lot of information at all. I would have preferred a Logitech camera (Linux support?) but for the money right now. * Any ideas on how I can broadcast this via a website so that I could eventually build a piggy-cam? It is connected to my main system via usb behind a firewall. Any suggestions on ports that I may need to open or anything else? Also...came across a product for Pocket PC handhelds called Nevo. Offers universal remote capabilities to TV's, etc. Anyone know of something similar in the Linux world that if offered or something that will run on a Palm OS? Any insight anyone could offer would be great. If it is more appropriate, feel free to contact me off list at my personal e-mail.
