That looks like a promising app that will fit in nicely on the kde desktop.  I 
wonder how it compares to cinelerra though:

It has a similar funky interface that xmovie used to have but looks like a 
pretty solid package for video editing.  Unfortuneately I don't know of any 
distro actually packages it.  

IMHO linux is more desktop ready than most people give it credit for.  There 
is already a huge amount of great software freely available, the problem is 
people don't know it even exists.  Lots of people think there are no apps for 
linux because they never see them in the latest future shop flyer or in the 
aisles at the local computer store.  As more people use linux, word of mouth 
will hopefully increase the popularity of currently unknown software.
