I'm new to this myself, but most, if not all, distributions of Linux are 
highly configurable to allow what you need. They can be setup fo DHCP, and 
Mandrake 9.0 for sure has a wizard to configure the Inernet Connection 
Sharing you are after. I haven't used the Mandrake version of "ICS" myself 
since I'm running through a linksys router, and it handles that part for me.
